SQUALL Hardshell Jacket – TorrentStretch – Shadow Grey

The Hardshell Squall is a technical outer jacket designed for extreme weather conditions. The TorrentStretch® membrane offers effective protection against rain and wind. It is our proprietary 3-layer (3L) laminate, developed for intense activities in difficult weather conditions. A 30,000 mm waterproof rating ensures reliable protection in heavy rain and strong wind. The integrated microporous membrane blocks water from the outside while transporting moisture produced by the body to the outside. Active ventilation allows for efficient heat and moisture management. Breathability, rated at 30,000 g/m²/24h, and a low RET value of 7 ensure very low resistance to vapor transfer, a key factor during high-intensity activities. The TorrentStretch® membrane effectively dissipates excess heat and moisture, preventing overheating and maintaining comfort during long climbs, outdoor movements, and intensive mountain work. YKK® AquaGuard® waterproof zippers offer additional protection from rain without compromising smoothness. The practical two-way main zipper, finished with a Prym snap button, keeps the jacket snug while allowing for easy adjustment during movement. The outer layer is protected by a water-repellent DWR coating. Long-lasting water repellency increases dirt resistance, reduces material absorption, and slows down moisture penetration. These advantages make the product easier to care for and help maintain its properties over time. Functional solutions that improve protection, comfort, and ventilation. Adjustable hood: the 2-point adjustment allows for a precise fit, while the high collar further protects the face from the wind. Underarm ventilation: zippered openings precisely increase airflow and stabilize the fabric during movement. Cuff and hem adjustment: adjustable Velcro cuffs and a hem drawstring allow the jacket to be adapted to different conditions. We designed the Hardshell Squall as a year-round outer layer, ideal for working in variable conditions. In summer, it protects against wind and precipitation; in winter, it serves as a base for a layered clothing system. To take full advantage of the jacket's capabilities, wear technical insulating and breathable layers underneath. In winter, the best solution is thermal underwear (e.g., US LVL 1) combined with a light insulating layer like the Wolfhound hoodie. Chest pockets: Two chest pockets positioned higher up remain accessible even when wearing a backpack with the waist belt fastened. Inner pocket: Offers additional protection for documents or a phone against the elements. Compact size: Once folded into the hood, the jacket easily fits into a trekking or EDC backpack. The 3L laminate resists excessive wrinkling and the low weight facilitates transport. Velcro panels on the shoulders allow you to customize the jacket.
